Disciples panic, Jesus sleeps

Here’s my latest sermon on one of the biblical narratives where we miss the point by reading it through hollywood glasses: you know, a crisis is afoot and everyone is in trouble, here comes the superhero to save the day, and everybody lived happily ever after? You know the drill, right? See what you make of it!

    My son’s latest sermon, on a delicate matter for some Christians, for whom Jesus is a easy patch for any trouble.
    As I coemmented recently on some friend’s post on Facebook, this is the essence of capitalist Christianity (of which evangelicalism and Pietism are largely an intricate part part: the privatisation of religion).
